Killer Queen

Shabooootyyyyyyyy
I feel so rusty blogging for the first time in a while, but hopefully I'll warm up.
So yesterday I discovered the most marvelous invention ever to be created called Twitter. It sounds really stupid when you first hear about it but basically, it's like facebook... with only statuses and basically no profile. You just type in a 160 character blurb about what you're doing at that moment and BAM (sorry emily for using your new name) everyone who gives a shit about you can read what you're up to withOUT stalking you. I actually use it to talk to my grandma. She's adorable and I can't believe she found out about it before me. And I use it to follow all my little youtube obsessions like SxEphil and Nerimon.
Anyways, I basically have like noooooo friends on there so if you are reading this then please add me at twitter.com/ummmanda
please : ) it's not lame i promise.
Today I visited my fifth grade teacher with my boyfriend (we were both in the same 5th grade class) and she is basically the sweetest lady in the entire world. Even though we were both completely soaked and dripping from getting poured on the walk over she still gave us both hugs. And she is one of those people who will always want to see you succeed no matter how lame you are. Not that I'm lame.
She's coming to my high school graduation!!

Right now I am restarting my previous obsession with Queen. (My cat's name is Freddy Mercury. NO really, it is.)My favorite song of theirs at the moment is Innuendo. Something about it is so haunting and dynamic I just can't stop listening to it. It's like six songs in one.
Speaking of fantastic music, I purchased the NEW. ZEBRAHEAD. CD on saturday for 6 dollars used. Fye, you are my hero. Picture old Blink 182 with a mixture of linkin park vocals, tom morello guitar effects, and atreyu-style riffs. Plus, the lyrics are equal parts fun and really thoughtful. If this cd came in people form, I would hug it.
BUY IT. now.

I'm also failing math AGAIN. So my mom is making me go to another one of her classes first period tomorrow when I should have a study hall. That means that instead of sleeping in for an hour in my perfectly soft and comfy queen sized bed with the glow in the dark planetarium sheets, I will be doing math. Math, as in my number one allergy.

Coffee icecream time!
!Ole!

Oh Tom Morello, my heart aches for you.

And since fucking when could you sing? I did not see that coming.
EMILY! ATTENTION PLEASE! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yRXkXRDnIQ
even though it sounds an awful lot like TNT, I am falling slowly in love with this song. I am such a party pooper for not attending this concert of awesomeness, but ugh whatever.
You want to know whyyyyy i didnt go?! because i was really fucking tired. i was! and also because i had my period and didnt want to move much less mosh. but i should have sucked it up.

here are the things i love about my sir tom morello
1. He wears his guitar strap tightened all the way up just like me
2. He totally owns slash... sorry spazzy guns n roses fans
3. He makes a single note at an extremely annoying volume sound like the poetry of angels
4. He always wears a hat, so I'm sure he's bald. But he is the most awesome bald person alive if this is true.
5. Even without Zach De La Rocha he can get a pumped crowd and a killer following.
6. HE CAN MENTION AUSTRALIAN HEAVY METAL AND THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION IN THE SAME SENTENCE AND IT SOUNDS PERFECTLY NORMAL.
oh tommy, i love thee =]

i hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. mine was sufficiently awkward. lets see... my mom decided to tell my entire family GUESS WHAT AMANDA HAS A DATE AND THIS IS HIS NAME AND SHHH DONT WAKE HER UP SHE'S SLEEPING.
yeah, my mom talks really fucking loud like, all. the. time.

i'm going to go back to watching 11 full minutes of tourettes guy on youtube
DAD!!! theres a bird in the house!

I am now officially Baywatch material =]

Greetings Earthlings! I'm aware it's been a while since i've posted a blog.
I'm rather sick, but despite this i PASSED MY FREAKIN LIFEGUARDING EXAM TODAY and i'm really really happy. I must have studied the CPR part about 10392489012834908 times before i actually understood it.
I'm also all nyquiled up so I'll make this short but i would like to report that i am
abb-sho-lute-ly OBSESSED
with the song never wanted to dance by mindless self indulgence.
I really have something for weird lead vocalists, i suppose? Anyway question of the day is:
What is your favorite weird vocalist? And why do you love him?
Say Jack White and I kill you. He's not weird hes just... pale : )

HAGS.

PS: I saw twilight on saturday. Hate the books... but a pretty decently entertaining movie. The cinematography was really good and I liked how they threw Muse's supermassive black hole in there. LOVE that song.

The beginning of this week is redikulous

Okay, so far this week has caused a lot of mixed feelings and confusion.
1. I'm pretty much failing math and chem.
2. One of my best friends now hates me because of something that may/may not be my fault.
3. I think I really, really like someone.
First things first, school has been stressing me out. I have NEVER been good at any of the so-called "logic heavy" subjects, and I think that's starting to come back and haunt me. It also especially pisses me off when someone is like "Well, you are just not trying your hardest!" because that's the sad part. I am!! I also am an epic failure at test taking... literally.
Second things second, I've realized that sometimes people really need a scapegoat for their own mistakes. To shorten a long story, I spilled some information that I thought was already under the discretion of my friend's boyfriend... only to realize that she had been hiding some things from him. To make things worse, he ended things with her over it. The problem is, I've always been pretty good friends with both of them... and now I have the respect of one for spilling and the hatred of one for the same deed. Am I going crazy or is it pretty much customary to share critical information with your boyfriend... and NOT go behind their back? I know that it is my fault for providing the catalyst, but I honestly wouldn't have made such a mistake if I had known that he was in the dark. Lesson learned here? I have no idea. Don't talk to your friends' boyfriends even if they are good friends of yours? Don't ask people questions if you're not sure that they don't have the answers? Don't be friends with people who will put a guy first, even when they have it all wrong? That's the point. I've always been there for her, and I'm hoping she'll cool down and come around.
Oh jeez, Crazy Bitch by Buckcherry came on JUST as I finished writing that paragraph. So I guess this calls for a happier note : )
I've discovered that I rather fancy someone, and I can't stop thinking about them. Well, duh it's a guy. And, duh he's pretty fucking attractive. I'm just not sure how this is going to work out...
Only like, one person knows (Hey Emily :] ) but yeah, guitar lesson in an hour and 43 minutes. I should probably start looking for my pick...
I miss playing the drums : (. Maybe my parents will love me enough to buy me the perfect present this christmas? Maybe... if my grades keep me from going to italy this may be quite possible.
Hell, I don't care. I can drum in Italy anyway.

peace and metal <3

I liked... a disney movie?

Yes, I will admit it. I saw High School Musical 3.
And YOU KNOW WHAT?! I liked it. It was actually really peppy and amazing.
Overall it's just a lot less crappy than the other High School Musicals... with like, actually good graphics and the lines don't seem all half-assed. Vanessa Hudgens still reeeeally bothers me, though. Her voice is just too high, it makes Zac Efron seem like a pedo.
Now I am sleeping over at my best friend/twin Alexis's house and my other best friend/fraternal twin Mark is staying over. You would think it would be awkward because they date... but it's really not. My mom is always all, "DON'T YOU FEEL LIKE A THIRD WHEEL?! DOESN'T LEXI GET JEALOUS WHEN YOU HANG OUT WITH MARK WITHOUT HER?!" No... it just... doesn't. We're like a clan of werewolves. (that was actually not a twilight reference but i just realized it might be perceived as one).
I'm still pondering the best song in the world to wake up to. I have one of those ipod alarm clock thingies that wakes you up to whatever song you were listening to on your ipod before you went to bed. Except now I'm getting into the habit of actually choosing the song I want to awake to before I go to bed. This is no easy task, because somehow in the morning I can make any song annoying. Example? For a month I left the same CD in my alarm clock (Evil Empires, Rage Against the Machine) and no matter how I tried I could not get it to play something other than the first song (People of the Sun). Let's just say I cannot listen to that song anymore without cringing in pain.
Can you help me out?! Comment with a good song to wake up to.
Here are my requirements...
1. cannot be anything by rilo kiley (i'm already tired of them)
2. cannot be overly loud and obnoxious
3. NOTHING BY THE BEATLES. If i were to get sick of them I don't know what I would do.
4. should be equally soothing but have a good beat... and not make me want to punch things

I mustz getz to my sleepzovah! (This is how Lexi and Mark are influencing the way I talk)

Ciao now brown cow : )

Fingernails are a good place for latin answers.

First things first... I was watching MTVu today (as ALWAYS.) And they always have the most amazing quotes from John Ashberry and Oscar Wilde in between videos... AKA some of the most well-spoken men in the entire world. I particularly liked one by Oscar Wilde saying, "All of us lie in gutters, but some of us look up at the stars."
--If you have an alternative interpretation of this quote then I'd be superthrilled to hear it (Of course I wont give you MY interpretation because that would only restrict your own thoughts. I'm not going to do all of the work for you guys this time :] ) so just put it in a comment.--
The past 6 or so hours for me have been possibly the most mind-numbing collection of tests I have ever experienced. I'm not the kind of person who deals well under pressure...so I pissed off most of the people around me. Example: my friend asked if she could borrow my notes and i responded with a frank "I HATE YOU. GO AWAY." I, however, do not hate her and she is one of my best friends. I think she understood. In the process of cramming for my Latin test during World History I spazzed and wrote all of the declensions for the passive tense on my fingernails... an ingenious cheating technique i adopted in middle school because my sweaty palms+ink=no cheating for amanda. You can also wipe the crap off before a teacher comes to check up on you... much more effective than the Notes-On-Converse technique.

In other news... The Raconteurs changed the layout of their website, and it looks fanfuckingtabulous. I highly suggest you check it out. But this is just a segway so that I get to talk about Jack White... a man I also consider to be pretty FANFUCKINGTABULOUS. He and Alicia Keys coexist marvelously in the song Another Way To Die from the new James Bond movie, even though Jack's spaztic bursts of guitar riffage sound a little awkward with the equally spaztic bursts of string concerto. A small production note I am willing to overlook. This must be the first top 100 song i've actually liked since... well... is it even a top 100 song? I was going to say early Paramore but I don't think they've ever made it up there either...
Mainstream Society: 1
Me: goose. egg.
I've also gotten around to listening to Locksley's latest Album which I found pretty satisfying. It's one of those albums that's good to listen to if you have a really cool car and you're driving down the highway (and by cool car I mean of course a VW bug or a beaten up lime green station wagon)... but a little annoying if you're trying to study. Which I did. Unsuccessfully. Overall there's a lot of really cool driving bass and drum layers and some Fastball/1950s reminiscent harmonies.

Also, I tried sugar free red bull in a desperate search for caffeine this morning... lets just say if they made bubble gum in piss flavor, this would be the equivalent. Emily drank it all, though. However, my withdrawal headache made it impossible to concentrate through Chemistry.
Yes, I am aware I have a problem.

OUT. : )

PROCRASTINATION=Genius?!

In a virtual haze of energy drink induced fog I've decided to procrastinate even furthermore from finishing my English project and instead list everything that's on my mind right now.
First of all, that I hope that it's not possible to actually be allergic to Guarana. Because for the past week and a half I've been experimenting with Red Bull and Full Throttle only to keep experiencing the weirdest crashes of my life. It's not so much a bad feeling as a kind of high... which I expect to be the 10,000 milligrams of caffeine draining from my system. Either way it's kind of a strange experience because I have the same urge to join a circle pit as I do to pass out on the carpet.
I think Julia Nunes said it best when she mixed the words Hyper and Tired into "Typer". If you don't know who Julia Nunes is then you, my friend, are missing out. Basically she's this insanely amazing youtube artist who plays the ukelele and this kind of Mouth-Piano-Ish thing kind of like this...
http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/images/bo/bontempi-winnie-the-pooh-mouth-piano.jpg
...except without the additional PoohBear hardcoreness factor. She wears cool hats and has a nose ring. She's also a pretty sick lyricist yet can make "Bye, Bye, Bye" seem like it was written by Chris Martin.
Oh, so here's the link to her channel v v v v v v v (those are arrows not V's)
